  • July 20th – Christopher John Boyle is born (2nd youngest of 6)

 

1980

  • October 3rd – Alyssa Anne Morgan is born (only child)

 

1983

  • August 29th – Alyssa begins school at St Mary Magdalen in Everett, WA

 

1984

  • Soundgarden forms

  • April – Emilie begins hitting Alyssa

 

1985

  • February 24th – Soundgarden open for Husker Du (their second show together)

  • April 16th – Howard leaves Emilie

  • May 23rd – Howard’s divorce from Emilie is final

  • June – Soundgarden record three tracks for Deep Six compilation

 

1986

  • February – Alyssa is pulled from St Mary Magdalen and enrolled in St Anne in Seattle, WA

  • April 1stDeep Six release party, Soundgarden plays

  • June 20th – Howard and Marilyn wed

  • September – Matt Cameron replaces Scott Sundquist as the drummer for SG; Susan becomes their manager

  • December – SG records “Hunted Down”

  • December 24th – Judith Noelle Morgan is born

 

1987

  • March – Chris & Susan go to New York to “check it out”

  • April – Emilie loses her appeal and is sentenced to five years in prison

  • June – Soundgarden releases “Hunted Down” on Subpop; undertake first national tour

  • October – Screaming Life EP released (talks start with A&M and SST, including demos for A&M)

 

1988

  • August – FOPP EP released

  • September – SG signs to SST, play Bumbershoot

  • October 31st Ultramega OK released

  • December – SG signs with A&M and begins to work on Louder than Love

 

1989

  • Soundgarden tours in support of Ultramega OK, their first visit to Europe

  • September 5thLouder than Love released

  • Yammamoto leaves band, Jason Everman joins

 

1990

  • January – Soundgarden begins tour with Voivod and Faith No More

  • March 19th – Andy Wood dies, Chris returns to Seattle from Loud Love tour

  • summer – writes songs for Andy while on tour

  • Ben Shepherd joins SG

  • August – SG returns to the road, opening for Danzig

  • October 22nd – Chris and Susan marry, attend the first PJ concert afterwards

  • November 13th – Temple of the Dog performs their only full set at the Off Ramp Cafe

 

1991

  • Badmotorfinger is recorded in the spring

  • April 16thTemple of the Dog released

  • October – Alyssa starts her period

  • October 8thBadmotorfinger released

  • December – tour with Guns N’ Roses begins

 

1992

  • February – SG tours opening for Skid Row

  • March – SG plays two shows at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre which are filmed for Motorvision video

  • April – SG starts its first headlining tour

  • June – SG supports GnR in Europe

  • July – SG tours with Lollapalooza

  • September – SG takes a long break from touring

 

1993

  • SG records Superunknown (July – November)

  • August – SG takes a break to play eight dates with Neil Young

  • December – SG tours Australia, Japan, and New Zealand

 

1994

  • March 8thSuperunknown released

  • March 10th – Chris meets Jeff Buckley backstage in London

  • April 5th – Kurt Cobain dies

  • May – SG begin American tour

  • August – SG completes tour in Seattle

  • August 28th – Alyssa starts at Ballard High School and meets David in class

  • September 8th – Chris and Kim attend MTV’s Video Awards & present

 

1995

  • January – SG appear on Pearl Jam’s ‘Self Pollution Radio’

  • March 1st – SG wins two Grammys

  • June 15th – Alyssa starts a part-time job at a coffeehouse

  • October 3rd – Alyssa gets a car for her birthday

  • October 21st – Shannon Hoon dies

  • November – SG starts to work on DotU; Alyssa meets Zack at work

 

1996

  • February – SG finished DotU

  • April 26th – Chris and Alyssa meet at coffee shop (where she’s working)

  • May 21stDown on the Upside released

  • June 14th – SG has a secret gig at the Showbox; Alyssa meets Eddie Vedder at gig

  • June 27th – Aug 4th – SG tours with Lollapalooza

  • Nov 6th – Dec 17th – SG tours for DotU

 

1997

  • Jan 16th – Feb 6th – SG finished DotU tour (New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii)

  • Feb 26th – SG loses the Grammy to Rage Against the Machine

  • April 9th – SG disbands

  • May 29th – Jeff Buckley dies (later Chris records a song in his honor)

 

1998

  • June 5th – Alyssa graduates from Ballard High School

  • Alyssa attends a Pearl Jam concert in the summer

  • August 27th – Alyssa begins classes at UCLA

  • Sept 12th – Alyssa meets Jonathon at a party

  • Sept 15th – Alyssa meets Andrew at a Critics Corner meeting

 

1999

  • February 17th – Alyssa breaks up with Jonathon

  • September 21st – Chris releases Euphoria Morning

 

2000

  • February – Alyssa organizes MLK Day with Tom Morello as speaker (begins to work on Axis of Justice after this)

  • June 28th – Lillian Jean Cornell is born

  • November 17th – Alyssa’s mother dies

 

2001

  • February – Alyssa learns of mother’s death

  • Chris jams with Rage guys, Civilian forms

  • July – Chris separates from Susan

  • October – Chris divorces Susan

 

2002

  • April – Civilian dissolves

  • April 5th – Layne Staley dies

  • May – Audioslave forms

  • June – Alyssa graduates UCLA (BA, Design|Media Studies; minor, Linguistics)

  • August – September – Chris is in rehab for drug and alcohol abuse

  • November 19th – self-titled Audioslave album released

  • November 25th – AS appears on Letterman, their first live show together

 

2003

  • Audioslave tours

  • Chris meets Vicky early in tour

 

2004

  • March – Chris marries Vicky in civil ceremony in LA

  • May 13th – Chris and Vicky marry in more traditional ceremony in Paris

  • July – Audioslave begin to work on next album

  • September 18th – Toni Cornell born

 

2005

  • January – Audioslave finish recording Out of Exile

  • April – Vicky leaves Chris; Chris files for divorce & custody Roads We Choose begins here

  • May 6th – Audioslave perform in Cuba; Alyssa attends with Chris

  • May 23rdOut of Exile released

  • April 14th – July 10th – Audioslave tours Europe & US for OoE

  • September – November – Audioslave tours arenas in US

  • October – some of the next Audioslave album is recorded in Atlanta, GA

  • December 5th – Christopher Nicholas born

 

2006

  • January – Audioslave finish recording Revelations

  • July – Chris starts to toy with the idea of solo stuff

  • September 5thRevelations released

  • September 7th – Chris performs solo, acoustically in Stockholm, Sweden

  • September 20th – Chris’s Bond song is leaked (“You Know My Name”)

  • October – Chris is in motorcycle accident while recording solo album

  • November 14thCasino Royale premieres, Chris and Alyssa attend

 

2007

  • February 15th – Chris formally quits Audioslave
